Volunteers In The Wild supplies volunteers to over 10 conservation programmes within South Africa. We have a large range of placements from working with orphaned children to darting rhino and rehabilitating lion cubs! All our staff are qualified conversationalists, field guides, game rangers, wildlife vets and trained volunteer co-ordinators to offer each applicant individual consideration in finding you your perfect placement and a personal experience in the field. All you need is a passion for wildlife and conservation! Here on our website you will find information on all our projects and an online booking form so you can begin your journey to South Africa today...

With our programmes you can have the chance to work in one of the worlds most diverse ecosystems alongside conservationalists, field guides, game rangers, wildlife vets and zoologists from many parts of the world! We welcome applicants from the age of 17 upwards from any country. No previous experience is necessary just a keen interest in conservation and will to work! You are able to spend your time at one placement or combine any number of our placements into one trip! Our projects range in length from 2 weeks to 3 months! Many of our applicants work our placements into their gap year or in breaks from college and university. We have successfully sent many mature volunteers to south Africa as part of a career break or sabattical. Scroll through our range of placements below and explore what we have to offer...
